A special Six Day War exhibition opened this week at the Yitzhak Rabin Center in Tel Aviv. The exhibition presents the story of the war in an interactive, digital context. The project is the fruit of cooperation between the Government Press Office, the IDF Archive and the Yitzhak Rabin Center to mark the 50th anniversary of this crucial even.
You will find the device that intercepted conversations between Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser and King Hussein of Jordan, drafts of IDF commander Yitzhak Rabin's Mount Scopus speech, the notebook in which Naomi Shemer wrote verses of the immortal song, "Jerusalem of Gold".
In special booths, wartime documents will be displayed for the first time: The entry to the Old City of Jerusalem, the operational order for the elimination of the Egyptian air force and the Red Sheet Ordinance, which gave the signal for the beginning of the ground offensive in Sinai.
The presentation is comprehensive and enriching. It is an emotional journey for all generations, especially for those who experienced the war first hand.
The exhibit is by reservation only.
