Next week: President Rivlin to make state visit to the Republic of India

At the invitation of President Mukherjee, President Reuven & First Lady Nechama Rivlin will depart on a state visit to India 14-21 November, 2016. During the visit:
Sunday, 13 November
Evening – President Rivlin will depart for India travelling via Mumbai to New Delhi
Tuesday, 15 November
Morning – President Rivlin will be received at an official state welcoming ceremony by President Mukherjee. The two Presidents will review a guard of honor, and stand for the national anthems. President Rivlin will then go on to lay a wreath at the tomb of Mahatma Gandhi.
Afternoon – President Rivlin will hold a working meeting with External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Afternoon – President Rivlin will hold a working meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After the meeting the President will go on to hold a number of meetings with senior officials.
Evening – President & First Lady Rivlin will be guests of honor at a state dinner in honor of their visit.
Wednesday, 16 November
Morning – President Rivlin will visit the Taj Mahal.
Afternoon – President Rivlin will visit the AqWise water treatment plant, which uses Israeli technology, where he will hear about Israeli developments in the field of water and their role across India.
Thursday, 17 November
Afternoon – President Rivlin will lay a wreath at the Teen Murti Memorial for the Indian soldiers who fell in the First World War in battle in the land of Israel and the Middle East, fighting for the British army against the Ottoman Empire.
Evening – President Rivlin will be guest of honor and address an celebratory event hosted by the Observer Research Foundation in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry.
Friday, 18 November
Morning – President Rivlin will visit the Center for Agricultural Excellence run by the Israeli Foreign Ministry’s international development and cooperation program Mashav. The visit will take place in the city of Karnal, north of New Delhi.
Sunday, 20 November
Morning – Preisdent Rivlin will be joined by President Mukherjee in opening the Agro Tech conference and business fair in the city of Chandigarh. There he will address a seminar on Israeli-Indian economic cooperation.
Monday, 21 November
Afternoon – President Rivlin will visit the Chabad House which was attacked in the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks, and lay a wreath in memory of the 6 victims murdered in the attack, including Rabbi Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg, the Chabbad emissaries stationed there.
Evening – President Rivlin will return to Israel.
