President Rivlin’s schedule for week beginning Sunday 31 July, 2016 / 25 Tammuz 5776

Sunday, 31 July  

11:00 – President Rivlin will at his residence address the appointment ceremony for dayaninm (judges) of the Higher Beth Din (Jewish Rabbinical Court). The event will see the appointment of 9 dayanim, and will be attended by both the Ashkenazi and Sephardi Chief Rabbis of Israel, Justice Minister Ayelet Shaked, and Infrastructure Minister Yuval Steinitz who chairs the appointment committee, and Minister for Religious Affairs David Azulai. The ceremony will be open to the media (GPO card holders only). Media arrival no later than 10:15. Please RSVP with Jason@president.gov.il.  

 

Tuesday, 2 August 

10:00 – President Rivlin will visit an army recruitment center and meet with new IDF recruits. Coverage details to follow. 

 

Wednesday, 3 August  

09:30-12:40 – President Rivlin will receive at his residence the diplomatic credentials of new ambassadors to Israel from the India, Chile, Malta, Estonia, and Lesotho. 

 

The presentation ceremonies will take place as follows: 

 

09:30 - Ambassador of India, H.E Mr. Pavan Kapoor  

10:10 - Ambassador of Chile, H.E Mrs. Monica Jimenez De La Jara  

10:50 - Ambassador of Myanmar, H.E Mr. Maung Maung Lynn  

11:30 - Ambassador of Estonia, H.E Mr. Sulev Kannike  

12:10 - Ambassador of Lesotho, H.E Mrs. Lineo Irene Molisa-Mabusela

 

The ceremonies will be open to the media (GPO card holders only). Please be sure to arrive no later than 30 minutes before the ceremony you wish to cover. Journalists wishing to attend MUST RSVP with Jason@president.gov.il. 

 

Thursday, 4 August  

18:00 – President Rivlin will participate in the official memorial ceremony for Ze’ev Jabotinsky, marking 76 years since his death.  Also participating in the ceremony will be Prime Minister Netanyahu.  The ceremony will take place on Mt. Herzl and will be open to the media.  Coverage details to be issued separately.
